Remember that Kao can only sell shares at certain times and under certain conditions of no near term news holding. he sells by a pre-determined and rather regular schedule /program.
Do you think Goldman does not know this and could release bearish news in concert with the pre-determnined time Kao will be selling? Watch - somebody in Goldman's proprietary trading group may buy. Double bearish bang to the stock. Goldman has no soull so do not expect anything to be said or done that is not in the partners financial interest.
I will add more shares if they get hit for two bucks more downside. Happens every quarter - then GRMN blows the number away 4 weeks late. I am a small plane pilot/partner and I own a boat. Both have Garmin GPS - along with a handheld I can use in places like Death Valley - where Android does not work because of no reception!!!
11:26 AM, Jan 09. Garmin (GRMN -2.9%) slips after Goldman reports management stated at CES it expects its 2013 PND unit sales to decline at a rate in-line with the 15%-20% drop expected for the broader market. That's worse than Goldman's forecast for a 7% Garmin unit drop. Garmin has used CES to show off new Nuvi PND models and (more interestingly) the K2 automotive platform. K2 features, a 10" multi-touch PND/infotainment display, a 12" display that acts as an instrument cluster/notification center, steering wheel controls, and Bluetooth pairing. It probably won't come cheap.
Goldman also reiterated a sell on the shares I think. I went in and bought some today towards the close. It's below its 50 MA so could drop into the 38s but patience will payoff and in the meantime enjoy the 4.6% Dividend. Even though the PND sales are dropping people will still need Nav. devices and it won't be phones they'll become like PS, PBs, and AC in all OEM and Garmin will be one of the main players. GLTA
