Vanguard Global ex-US Real Estate ETF Message Board

    Bailed today @ 47.12

Bailed on this position I started at inception and have added to all along. Cost Basis was $46.13.

The yield was a dissapointment for full year 2011, if we get back to the $40 area I may revisit as the yield then will be around 3.3% based on 2011 dividend.

If there is a shakeup in the market I can see this revisiting the old lows.

    • Good level to sell at. I understand your frustration with VNQI, and certainly, the beauty of ETFs is the ability to trade them. I'm sure I'll be selling some or all of my VNQI at some point, but right now, it's helping diversify my portfolio. Like you, I've purchased VNQI at various levels. Overall, I'm 55 percent in bonds and most of those are in high yield. Equities are diversified with VNQI giving me access to something missing in my portfolio -- international real estate. I like VNQI because it contains lots of holdings, so the fund itself diversifies to avoid concentration. The dividend is good enough for now, though I'm hoping it grows. Meanwhile, I'm staying in VNQI for the diversification it offers. In fact, if we have another major market downturn, I'll likely add to my VNQI holdings.
