    • How about this for seeing the future? P1-Too bad FEI's illegimate management kept this barge (MCRN) floating until now. Look at the top management and you will find they are former MCRN employees, hmmm. P2-FEI has squandered good talent from big winners like KLA-Tencor & AMAT. Bottom Line-Vahe sold out to KLA once with Metrologix (1994, big winner for KLA @ only $25mil) and he will sell out again. Just a matter of time.

Because, anything's possible, now the smart ones know when to take a profit.

    • Sure would like to have bought some of this at 5.25 as insiders did.

    • Kevin: Are you in any way related to Jack
      Savage?
He used to be a sales guy for Micrion back in
      the
early days. I headed up the original software
      team
for the first five years of their existance.

    • I was a Micrion shareholder, and I put in a
Good-til-Cancelled order to sell at 9 15/16, assuming that Phillips
would be unloading after the stock passed the point
      where they bought in.

      The recent strong moves in
the stock price, on good volume, have made me rethink
this. I cancelled my order today, so I am no longer on
      autopilot to unload this stock.

      I will have to be
more active in monitoring the progress of the company,
including its forecasts for future earnings. Since I am new
to this board, I have no idea how informative the
people are, or what they really know about day-to-day
      operations at FEIC.

Are there any employees of FEIC,
or employees of FEIC customers, or employees of FEIC
competitors that participate on this board?

    • What makes you think that Philips wants out?
Certainly if they do their strategy would not be to dump
their shares into the market. They would just sell the
      company, since they control it.

      Clearly there is
institutional interest causing this breakout, and that would
indicate a move above $10 should be a slam dunk as this is
now a great value play -- with Micrion's technology
-- that should give all of us patient investors a
great reward. My guess is that we see $15 within 12
      months.

    • Phillips NV bought millions of shares at about
$10/share to give FEIC the cash it needed for the Micrion
merger. Will they be looking to dump this as soon as they
can, or is this a long term investment?

      If
Phillips is going to cash out, or reduce their FEIC
ownership, it may be hard to trade much above $10 until they
unload millions of shares in the marketplace.

    • Where did you get the short interest ratio?

What information do you have to support your statement that short ratio is 22.5?

    • Ive heard some interesting stuff on this co.
Sales in Japan have picked up and I hear they may be
some new interest from a couple of firms on the
street. Pure speculation at this point as the company FEI
not Micrion has not as yet returned any calls. I dont
particularly like that as most companies in the past have
responded fairly quickly to inquiry. On the other hand they
may be tied up with the merger.Ive heard this company
is well positioned in their marketplace and forward
earnings look very promising. Somne smart guys I know are
looking for a triple in the next 9 months. Well see,Good
      Luck
