I am an IAM 751 member, and we up here support the people on strike in California. We kmow how Boeing is when it coms to negotiating. They don't. And I don't care at all what any of these other people say, you guys stick to your guns.
Not sure if this is the answer but Boeing has been trying to transition all new hires over to a pensionless system wherein the 401K as the alternative receives a more generous contribution. Further, and this may be a minor point, the 401K "matching contribution" is in the form of Boeing stock vs. cash. Perhaps there is a website that gives the details.
Benefits for the most part! Like paying less on their cost for employees health insurance benefits, retirements and freeze wages. There you go oldbucks....I worked there on the C-17 program from 1987 to 1997....I was in the union-Local 148 which I paid $50.00 per month union dues just to be in the union. They did absolutely nothing for me.....Thomas
