The Boeing Company Message Board

  • olderdud olderdud Jan 28, 2013 11:23 AM Flag

BA has no idea how to make 787 safe

    which means two things.

    1. Billions in losses

    2. No one will want to fly on the 787 this year

Starting to think BA stock is a $50 share in Sheep's clothing.

    • Can't understand why someone would want Boeing (an American company) to fail and fail miserably........why???

      • I would like to see this APPALLING management fail, as a demonstration to large businesses the world over how NOT to run their business. There's a difference. This "American company" is much more than its greedy and incompetent (if not parasitic) BoD.

If management had listened to their "communist" union engineers, we wouldn't be in this mess today.

    • Wishful thinking shorty, passenger satisfaction with the 787 is sky high. One flight and most hope they never have to fly another plane that isn't a 787.

Most people remember the issues when they first started using LI batteries in cell phones, and laptop computers. There were some fires and battery meltdowns early on, buy no one even thinks about that any longer when buying a phone or laptop. This is because hundreds of millions of these devices out there using LI batteries safely and only a handful of them have yearly have a battery failure that ends up causing a fire.

The fact is just because BA got it wrong the first time, doesn't mean LI battery use in aircraft is fatally flawed. Just like the cell phones and laptop manufactures did, BA will find a solution and fix the LI battery issue to the point rolling out another aircraft with LI batteries won't be considered any risk at all.
