We are not an auto company, We are an aircraft company that builds the best aircraft in the industry! Jim McNerney needs a reality check!. By the way, I am really #$%$ because I know much more about why they are trying to lock up the IAM wokrforce. Boeing dictates to us, Emirates dictates to Boeing. If Boeing wants that huge order, they need to talk to us!
Emirates wants security of supply to a given schedule. They dont care how Boeing provides that, but will examine any plan Boeing has to see what the risks are, if any. Eliminating the possibility of a strike affecting delivery schedules is a positive for them. The fact that Mitsubishi already has wing experience for the 787 is a positive for them. Final assembly location and reliability is an important issue to them. S. Carolina has to show they can deliver.
Both sides need to get real and be reasonable and realize there needs to be a balance.......otherwise Boeing will pull up and farm out more work and suffer from it's actions, while Ex-IAM members will be parking cars or flipping burgers in Sea Tac
