Global warming scientists forced to admit defeat... because of too much ice:

They went in search evidence of the world’s melting ice caps, but instead a team of climate scientists have been forced to abandon their mission … because the Antarctic ice is thicker than usual at this time of year.

The scientists have been stuck aboard the stricken MV Akademik Schokalskiy since Christmas Day, with repeated sea rescue attempts being abandoned as icebreaking ships failed to reach them.

Now that effort has been ditched, with experts admitting the ice is just too thick. Instead the crew have built an icy helipad, with plans afoot to rescue the 74-strong team by helicopter.

    • Global Warming was a left wing hoax.....nobody believes it any more.

    • Antarctic ship passengers to be evacuated by helicopter

      DateDecember 31, 2013 - 2:29PM

Passengers and crew stranded on a Russian scientific expedition ship trapped off Antarctica will be taken off the boat by helicopter once it stops raining, the expedition leader says.

Thick ice, freezing winds and now rain have delayed the rescue after the ship became stuck on Christmas Eve.

On Tuesday morning, Chris Turney, who is leading the expedition, said the 52 passengers on board the Akademik Shokalskiy would be flown out by helicopter after it stopped raining.
So a fossil fueled helicopter from the biggest CO2 emitting country, China, will save this nutty green professor and the non-scientific cavalcade of propagandists that followed him into danger. I love irony.

    • You got it all wrong ! now pay attention. The new liberal talking points has changed to "Climate Change", global warming is out since Al Gores fleet of 12 suv's was begining to add to the hard data. "Climate Change" is a perfect explanation for the huge increase in Antartica's ice pack during its summer, it will work for both pro or con arguments.
