Eyelea will miss sales estimates imo, doctors prefer to Avastin for wet AMD because it's MUCH cheaper

Do the math, $50/dose every month for Avastin vs. $1800/dose every two months for REGN's Eyelea!!!!!!!!! This is a no-brainer. Both drugs are similar in efficacy. Be careful with the recent spike in stock price because when it reverses it will be nastier than a honey badger!

    • Totally untrue. I suggest you speak with an opthalmologist because my wife's doc loves Eyelea and moved her to Eyelea as soon as it was available. Regeneron is a winning company with several winning drugs in the pipeline! Pleas sell it short so I can win bigger as you cover.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • Wow! you really have no clue. Try asking the people who need this if it's worth the $$. Next time study more info before you open your mouth.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • What spike are you referring to? The recent run from $140 to $170, the YTD from $54 to $170 or maybe you were referring to the $30 to $170 run over the last 2-years. You have no idea what you are talking about!!!

The efficacy is NOT similar. Actually Avastin has shown some serious side effects. So much so that many doctors are actually switching patients from Avastin to Eylea. Eylea is going to deliver over $800 MILLION of revenues within the first year on the market. Eylea will go down as one of the all time best launches in the history of the biopharma industry.

As I've said many times in my other posts......Slow and steady!!!! Good luck to all!!!! 2012 is finishing up an outstanding year and 2013 is setting up nicely with more international approves expected early in 2013!!!!

      • Argoalpuche, it is nice to see some intelligent posts about REGN, which to me is the next Amgen. This company is clicking on all cylinders and has such unbelievable potential. Eyelea will just keep producing record revenues in Europe and Japan (millions of seniors with eye problems) and don't underestimate the potential of the new collorectal cancer drug, which I predict will be a big surprise in revenues in 2013. Then, you add in the Moby Dick of drugs. . . the cholestoral drug which is in Phase 3 after incredibly strong data in Phase 2 and you can see it blowing away a fading Lipitor and earning more billions for REGN. Now, you can understand why the company is getting prepared for REALLY BIG things with its expansion of manufacturing facilities in New York. This preparation reminds me of the way Amazon handled it growth on the way up. There is one final thing that nobody talks about --- REGN's float is a skimpy 9 million shares. This is incredibly small. Repeat, scarcity. As the stock price explodes, the company will split and split and split. If you are a patient long term investor and don't get caught up in this day-to-day dribble, you will be very very rich in six or seven years. Good luck and God Bless.

      • Why do you guys waste your energy to answer posts like that one...!? What an impressive day today though... I find this $30 plus run over a couple of days quite interesting. I don't think today's European announcement regarding Zaltrap recommendation by CHMP has anything to do with it. Revenues from that drug are nothing compared to Eylea. I know Argoal, "slow and steady" is your motto, but you can't argue with me if I say this is everything but slow or steady. Quite the opposite. Short covering? Cup and handle formation? In a dip or a pop, I like clear facts. I'm not sure "we" have them here, but "some" do. And I really wonder what those "some" are cooking!

        Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • oh , one more thing before I go put more money in the bank-
Why dont you go buy shares of WorldCom and then go to Verizon message board and comment how cheap "dial-up" is as compared to DSL..

    • You are a #$%$---Would you give your elder father or mother an off label drug that is inferior? I guess so....Would you give this off label drug that by method of extracted manufacturing can kill and contaminate- Thats why its 50 cents---that is all its worth---These off label drugs are exposed to put in smaller vials---Try and learn about pharmaceuticals before posting utter moronic nonsense.
Oh---Hows that short working for you?

      Sentiment: Strong Buy
