ray, as i posted earlier i did not buy nti (not wanting to complicate my tax reporting, and not being able to shelter div even in a roth) I did the next best thing i.e sold 60 puts @22.5 for march and june getting almost 7k. I expect them to expire worthless pocketing the entire sum. As of today i have about 2k gain but if the stock remains above 22.5 in june i shall keep the entire 7k.
I hate paying 42% tax on a non qualified div. All my mrets are in roth. The short cap gains are accommodated by my loss carryover from 2001.
However nti is acting great price wise so u landed a good one.
I read a response from you, and have added a couple of additional posts. Thanks. MTGE has been stronger than I thought, but I got good prices on several stocks when I left MTGE. I don't know if that compensated for missing MTGE, but I have done OK.
