Management doesn't believe (according to their last conference call) that they have had enough stores open for a sufficiently long time to make meaningful comparisons. I believe the president (Dennis Pence) said that when they have had 100 stores open for more than a year, that they would provide SSS. That time should be coming up shortly.
timgoor is exactly right. See his post for the answer and please stop asking why no SSS numbers when the company's answer is available to all via the transcript / conference call. I think their answer is fair enough. They dont have enough stores for this to be meaningful. Frankly, I hope that they continue to sell more via the Internet at lower costs and greater profits.
"Frankly, I hope that they continue to sell more via the Internet at lower costs and greater profits. "
I get what you're saying but do customer demographics really support a strategy like that?
Visited a CWTR store yesterday and it looked great, employees were friendly, even to me, and I was a *guy* in there. Plenty of women in there buying all kinds of stuff. Makes me wanna buy more CWTR, which I will when I get another buy signal. Many more women in the store than there were at chico's.
The true reason for not revealing progress monthly like all other retailers is to allow mgt to sell for a qtr before they share data with investors. They can spin it any way they want but in 6 months this stock will be selling at a 50% discount.
