Masco Corporation Message Board

Price Fixing is Not Nice - and Not Cheap to Settle

377 independent insulation installers have joined in the class action being brought against Masco. This price fixing case is not going to disappear, in my opinion.

That means 377 small businesspeople, an average of almost 8 per state (plus those connected with them) could be very concerned and watching the case closely. They have 100 Senators and 435 Representatives available to contact.

And I don't think it would be wise at this point in its life for Masco to spend piles of stockholder money on enough lobbyists to reach hundreds of members of Congress.

On 25-Jul-05, I wrote the following in connection with posts by an apparently bite-size insulation contractor from New Jersey who spoke of how Masco did business:

"In the beginning, XXXXXX was speaking as an individual Masco competitor. He was telling us how he perceived Masco companies with different names, but parts of Masco Contractor Services [Red Lion Insulation, National Home Insulators, Cary Insulation, L&M Insulation] to be acting in collusion in an effort to fix prices in his area.

"He has NOT denied the fact that he stated on this board that he depicted Masco as employing slippery and questionable tactics in efforts to eliminate or seriously injure him and other small insulation businesses in his area of New Jersey.

"But then those wonderful business evangalists at Masco apparently got hold of him - and he was drawn into the fold - from whence he began to write inspirational pieces praising Masco and its business tactics - and joining it in its call for repeal of the Ten Commandments.

"Although he ought to make an excellent witness for the prosecution, I suppose Masco could portray XXXXXX as someone who was wandering confused until they showed him the light - and that until he joined Masco whatever he said can only be viewed as the ravings of someone who, until his mind was re-programmed by Masco, had been seriously compromised by exposure to high levels of asbestos insulation.

Quite a lot has been written on the subject by other posters.

    • Anal--you have lived up/down to your name. You try to hitch your wagon to the Boston Greek. What an a_s. Anything you have written could be ascribed to a company overseen by an alphabet regulatory agency. I am firm in my belief that you are still smarting, terribly, from a badly handled dismissal by MASCO. Maybe they could help resolve your problem by providing you with health care:-))

    • Let's see.

a six year old lawsuit, scheister attorneys reprsenting bankrupt small independent insulators.

      Pick it up a bit.

      Good Luck
