Masco Contractor services had started to implement the Oracle software in 2005 with 150 million dollars and plan to finish the project in 1 year, but now its been 4 years and still didn't finish it at half way due to poor design and management. One way MCS is cutting salary to save money and other way unexperienced mgmt is ignoring the waste of million dollars. One good thing about MCS is, if you can play politics then you can get promotion(even though you don't know mgmt). The whole Oracle mgmt team is completely unexperienced in otherwords they never did work in Oracle in that position and now spending million dollars. There are already 3 pauses and yesterday another pause so somebody will get promotion!!!!! at MCS politics is more and work is less. I am tired of working here, please get me another job!!!!!
what do you think?... even CEO, CFO doesn't know what is the right status of the project.
I read it was botched and that they just replicated what was already there. Also something about installers ripping out truck units.
Does not sound very good but hopefully the posters here are incorrect.
Amen, brother unit101. The topic appeared first on 4 August 2009. There appear to have been 86 replies after that - although it seems like hundreds! A record for the board, I believe.
Too bad this single issue played so significant a role in obscuring Masco's multitude of truly debilitating problems and failures. It did, of course, bring out a lot of employee opinions concerning management's competence - and lack thereof.
We also completed the implementation of the ERP system in this segment, and we believe that initiative and some of the things we're doing from a lean standpoint should continue to drive efficiencies and cost savings going forward, so making a lot of progress in terms of Installation.
The project is still going strong. Remote units tied into the main frame that were installed in every insulation, shelving, gutter, cabinet install vehicle they own. Including the 30% that are sitting in the yards because of lack of work and the 10% that are up on blocks. The balance are behind the seats where the installers ripped them off the dash in frustration and tossed them.
