The real question is -- why did it take so long to come up with an agreement that looks so simple on the surface? I was expecting something much more complex considering how long it took them to announce this.
And considering the definitive court victory over AAPL, why would OPTI settle for around half the amount they were suing for? Doesn't make much sense to me. Even if it takes an additional couple years to get through appeals, it would still be more than the settlement.
Not the outcome I'm sure most shareholders were expecting. The good thing is that all we lost was upside. Hopefully, Bernie can get good outcomes with AAPL and NVDA.
