STATE FARM KILLS BINDING AUTHORITY FOR

"Friday, June 14, 2002 will be the last day thatState Farm agents in California willbe able to bind commercial or personal auto insurance policies, according to State Farm agents contacted by the Alliance. After June 14th, the company will take approximately 7-15 days to get back to agents with a "yay" or "nay" on any policy."

We're hearing that this is a temporary measure so that the insurer can recoup losses and that binding authority may be restored eventually. However, all we really know at the moment is that State Farm agents in California can kiss their autobinding authoritygood-bye after June 14th.
