    Mid-East Turmoil

Interesting dialog on energy, however is anyone following today's news re Israeli shooting of Palestinian teenagers? Initial reports suggest Israeli soldiers fired warning shots to scare Palestinian kids out of a so-called restricted area and then killed same. Why would warning shots be fired? Were unarmed kids a threat? Is that what happened?

I ALWAYS give Israel the benefit of the doubt however this incident along with announcement of expansion of major settlement suggests that US will soon be caught, again, holding the bag as one side or the other scuttles peace overtures. If Bush has any "balls" and commitment to peace in the Mid-East, he better be talking tough to both sides right this minute or more US blood will be spilled again even as Iraq hopefully improves.

    Best,
    Dog

    • anal may have a hearing problem.....ie..the kid may not be hollering "shane"...but "SHAME" (strange he couldn't make that one out..as it seems to have been one of his fav words in the past)

    • anal, your shia fixation is good entertainment. As for that little kid:

      >>>(why do all my posts end up with a little kid running after me yelling, "SHANE"?) <<<

there's a paper trail stuck to... Listen to the kid.

    • No it wasn't, stuntwit.
The only enemy we face in the middle east is shia. They are mostly now in Iran and Iraq, and they are mostly now, or mostly will soon be in total control of a defacto shia superblock. With Iran the President, and Iraq the secular vice president or the state of shia.
      There.
Now you've got a PHD in foreign policy.
Try editing even one post, and maybe then I'll respect you, fair enough?
      Moron.
      Loser.
(why do all my posts end up with a little kid running after me yelling, "SHANE"?)

    • anal, jad poked a lot of holes in your Shia mantra. You really need wipe yourself clean and respond to his strong argument before confusing 'Shia' with 'Arab'. The Western World has been disturbed by things 'Arab' for milennia. Your 'Shia' confusion was rectified by jad and a weaker presentation by myself.

    • Iran or Iraq alone will not, could not attack Israel.
Together, as a Shia block, they will exist to destroy Israel.
You need to understand what we are talking about we say, "Destroy Israel".
This motivation has nothing to do with the Sunni uprising in Iraq, nor our invasion of Iraq or Afghanistan.
Your problem is: you get the wars mixed up.
There is only one perpetual war: Israel vs the Shia in Iraq and Iran, and Lebanon (as the Hezbollah which you witnessed when they outsmartmobbed the christian forces of freedom)
      Shia.
      Get to know them.
      Shia.
Shia is only 10 percent of all the world's Islamic hordes.
Sunni is the vast, silent, peaceloving, normal, beautiful part of Islam.
There are some peace loving Shia, but they are like the peace loving Germans in world war two: invisible..
Shia interprets the Koran with geo-political consequences. ON every page, their Koran Code experts can find the words, "Destroy Israel".
We unleashed Shia, which had been held in check with Saddam, and yes Saddam was a lesser evil, as you are about to find out.
THe Shia are the lines of supply and communication for Hezbolah/Hamas. They are supporting the militia to bide it's time, waiting to pour across the Israeli border and attack.
They will attack. If Iran gets the bomb, they'll nuke Israel. There's nothing to stop them.
Of course there's no historical precedence for Israel being on the receiving end of arab hate.
I mean, I did pull all of this analysis out of my ass, of course.
      Whew.

    • REGARDING: Intereswting Anal, but I am a bit confused. Are you saying we have made a large error by invading Iraq and trying to establish a democratic poly country. Are you saying we blundered into a postive position and must press our agenda. Are you saying we blundered into a defensive position which will be perpetually trecherous.

      RESPONSE: YES! NO! YES!

    • Anal.. ty for your response.

Help me out here. Why do you think either Iran and/or Iraq would risk war with Israel. Last time I looked Israel had about the third best air force in the world. Has something changed since then.

    • I'm saying that Bush has expanded the war by blundering into it. Afghanistan was correct. Iraq was wrong.
Syria/Lebanon will be a disaster. The smartmobbing of the Hezbollah demonstrated how large an army Israel faces face in Lebanon.
I'm also saying that the two conflagrations have different sparks, and could be handled one at a time. But joined together by geographical accident is too much for irony, fate, and every other kind of paradoxical mysticism.
Saddam was contained. Plus Saddam contained Iraq's shia, and provided a buffer against Iranian Shia. That would have lasted for generations.
Now, Iranian Shia and Iraqi Shia can join together against Israel, and feed the Hezbollah/Hamas militia against the freedom fighters in Lebanon, and the Israelis.
We've uncorked SHIA whether our intentions were good or not.
      That was a big mistake.
The end of the world is now unavoidable unt ve vill all be keeled a thousand times!

    • Egypt - Sunni?
      S. Arabia - Sunni?
      Syria - Sunni?
      Pakistan - Sunni?
      Hussein - Sunni?

Study the past 4 decades of history. Lots of Sunni inspired wars. Some awful dictators. What's your definition of peacelover? ... must be same as for the USA!
