Yahoo Finance's take on gold and silver:
"Now let's talk about the gold bugs. They're an excited bunch these days because rising prices have renewed debate about currencies, inflation and predictions of doom. But there's a big problem, at least on the equity side of this phenomenon. Nothing at all is happening with gold stocks, despite popular belief.
The Philadelphia Gold/Silver Index (XAU) rallied to resistance at its 2004 highs this month, while the commodity tagged new highs. This is a bearish divergence because gold stocks should outperform the metal at breakout levels, not underperform it. In other words, the index is still range-bound and not in an active uptrend.
The trouble stems from the silver component of the index, which is still trading well-below historic highs. Unfortunately for the gold bugs, this triggers a second divergence because the metals should move together if this were the start of a secular uptrend. The bottom line: Look for the gold rally to fail soon and take the bugs with it."
Farce... You are as full of yourself as you are wrong on each and every count. You make me laugh to myself. No doubt you would make a good soldier. No order you wouldn't obey. No Pinko, China Man, Towel Head, Yankee, Accadamician, enviornmentalist you wouldn't shoot to kill.
Since you didnt even have the decency to ask, I'll tell you what I like about your your segregation idea. I'd like to see your kind the Narrow-minded, Bigoted, Intolerant, know-it-alls segregated from what truly makes this country great. Those that are Brave in Body, Mind and Spirit. YOu are woefully challenged in all three.
I am a progressive. I want to seperate the country into philosophies and those that follow them. Let those that think the Constitution should be adjusted to make everyone feel good go their own way. Let those that KNOW the Constitution should be read as is, go the other way. Watch what happens to your group, the former. You clowns will have a civil war in less than six months. You KNOW that you need the rest of us to support your BS in a secure environment. You loath us in public but you thank GOD for protecting you parasites deep down. You could NOT survive without us. You know it and I know it!
FiBs.. Hmmm.. You don't recognize yourself as an obstructionist. Now there's a newsflash. You not recognizing something about yourself. Your self love is only topped by your self congratulations.
If you want to claim to be a progressive, maybe you could cite an instance, any instance, where you have been so. I have yet to see a single instance.
Further and I know you like to accuse others of a short attention span, I remind you again it was you that commenced the negative name calling. I have learned that such negative names does prick your bubble of hot air. You reap what you have sowed.
Alf, I find almost certain disappointment when I attempt to have a reasonable adult dialog with you.
To assist with your short attention span:
--I do not "recognize myself as an obstructionist". You used that in one of your many gratuitous negative statements and I asked what, precisely, you perceive me to be obstructing. You have yet to respond with any semblance of maturity. You have also not shed light on how a liberal can shamelessly call a non-liberal an obstructionist.
--I am progressive, and I am conservative. I am a multi-faceted individual. It is to be expected my grandchildren could be the same. I am not part of the present gaggle of national leaders referred to as liberals, nor one of their helpers, nor one who tries to camouflage support for such by adopting superficially different names. A lib; i.e., those such as yourself, is simply a lib. A "progressive" seems to be your preference for "liberal"; however, I think so-called liberals have hijacked and misused enough of our language, so I see no value in giving you another English word to twist, abuse, destroy, and discard.
You and yours have destroyed "liberal".
Now you should fix it if you can but, in any case, it is yours.
Canoodle. Stupidity must be your forte. Because you say it, it is not fact. In fact when you say it without source or other attribution, it is likely either false or incorrect. Don't expect all to fall down in awe when what YOU spout is a mixture of your ignorance and wishes.
If you have a specific problem with a report or analysis piece in the Times, you are of course welcome to present a critique. Of course if your sole source is Canoodle on History or Economics, don't expect much credit or support other than from your fellow Neos. While the NY Times is not without its errors and certain biases, it remains the most comprehensive media source on interntional news with the BBC a close second. I recommend you read them both.
Of course you are welcome to just read those articles I bring to your attention, but then you would be missing oh so much. You would be better informed than you are presently, but leaning to read multiple good sources could free you from your cult of Ignorance.
Alpha, the NY Times is a business. It is not a bunch of academics. You seem to confuse the two. It hires workers that help it sell its merchandise. They have you brainwashed to the extent that most of the time, you just copy and paste their opinions as if they were magical elixirs. That's the sign of a weak man. Here's something to think about... the NY Times, holier than thou in your opinion, has a distinct tilt towards 'green' issues. YET, YET, last month it TOTALLY nixed the green architecture for its new building. TOTALLY. I guess walking the talk doesn't apply to your beloved, greedy corporation. Its hypocrisy is there for you to examine. It should be sobering enough for you to step off of your pedestal. Constantly cutting and pasting someone's opinion (not news) doesn't elevate your view at all. I'm sorry you can't seem to realize that. Just give us your opinion. If I want to read the NY Times, I will.
Buffett is right again.
He speculated from 2001 to 2009.
You'll see that he was right:
From the middle of 2006 thru 2009....we will see gains for Berkshire Hathaway triple. It is quite the elephant or ark:
Bet against the U.S. Dollar
Food, Energy, Metals. Best places to be for 4 years.
FiBs... Glad to see you recognized yourself as an obstructionist. Problem is as you are obstructing, you see nothing wrong. It is only years later that similar personalties recognize the injustice they were inflicting. Your grandchildren no doubt will be more progressive.
Child-like alf, rather than the wrong-headed pseudo-attempt to walk in my shoes, you should work harder to become less clumsy in your own.
Rather than name-calling, you could describe what you perceive is being "obstructed".
Because even an "obstructionist" can be more beneficial than one who uses his one and only life snarling while traveling in circles.
Do you perhaps have an original thought you might visit on us(?) If so, are you saving it for maximum surprise(?)
