QWAK,Even the ultra rich can FALL!

QWAK,Life is full of IRONIES and wealth can NOT alter GRAVITY!

    http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/12/21/national/main3640262.shtml?source=mostpop_story

Building a roof is DANGEROUS but NOT having a roof is unthinkable so people only think about the roof when it LEAKS! :)

Not having spendable MONEY is also UNTHINKABLE so people PRETEND that FIAT currency is the SAME as MONEY ----- untill the DIFERENCE becomes OBVIOUS and THEY fall threw their "PRETEND ROOF" of DEBT backed economics that is ROTTED and LEAKING!

Moral of the story is: GRAVITY and REALITY cuts no one any slack and sooner or later they always WIN, no mater who you are or how rich you are! ;)

Just somthing to PONDER on from

    • AS you know Bear, the Dwuck has had a narrow vision respecting gold and other investments. Dummy hardly reads criticisms concluding that everyone besides himself and the Dwuck are short a brick. He has told us about his great trading and T/A and likely isnt even aware of how your portfolio has kicked the chit out of everyone else's on the board, including no doubt Dummy's.

Gold's appreciation has slowed in the past two years while yours have cont to appreciate at an incredible rate. You have truly pursued incredible rewards at what I would have characterized large risk. Time and results have caused me to question that conclusion and with respect to AAPL you have certainly shown great judgment. I dont know what will happen with gold or silver next year, but in retro I wish I had bought AAPL in Q1 of this year instead of gold and silver. Perhaps I should half my PM sector and instead take your advise and buy AAPL.

Here's to the new year and our mutual appreciation of solar plays.

    • >> assuming you mean you & duck....canoe has been long gold for a long time..so that is 3...(you need to work on your math..:, )

Answer: Yo spliter... I rated your post a (2). It wasn't exactly great, but you did point out the fact that canucanoe has been pro gold for as long as I have been around and I think even before that. He DID run through my feeble mind though, but I don't put him in the same category as the duck and myself. He hasn't taken the abuse of either for his position, which he states as VGPMX which I've held for many, many more years than even he... no if's and's or but's. I'm pretty sure, unless he can go back to the 80's!!! About my math... how come you're always so ready to offer advice on things without knowing the facts?
      .................................................
      >> j4...and that is/ was a good trade/investment/perspective?
      Answer:

      And STILL is!!!
      .................................................
      >>however...i'll let you do the math.........lets say 5 yrs...$50,000 invested in gold vs aapl.........

Answer: I don't believe in comparing aapl(es) to gold !!! You do the math... I did mine way before any stock considerations. Besides, the last time you mentioned AAPL you said you sold it... and that was eon's ago. I still remember when you were sweating bullets over it and were begging for help!!! What's happened since?

However... if you want to have a pissing match about stocks, which are not in the same realm as gold, then I'll be more than happy to engage you. Trading stocks and holding precious metals are two completely different strategies for completely different reasons.
      ............................................
      >>granted when the dollar gets to zero..gold should retain some value..(duckie posts).....in the mean time....looks like maybe the dollar has bottomed and thus that party...........may be over......i don't know..we'll see.

Answer: The only part of what YOU SAID... not what the duck said... that makes sense is that you "don't know"!

If you don't know, how can you make intelligent investment decisions? Just some wild guesses, based on nothing? I have a very strong opinion, and it's based on the fundamentals of the dollar along with the current envronment worldwide. I no longer advise. People really don't want advice from anyone unless they ask for it. When you tell people things they'd rather not hear, you're the bad guy. You can certainly state your opinion, but it's best (IMHO), to be your own private advisor and leave it at that.
      ...................................................
      >>in any case....hope you have a nice CHRISTmas...or a nice "nothing day" if you are celebrating with duckie.....

Answer: I'd rather not comment on that remark. I don't know what you meant by that.
      ......................................................

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone.

    • RE: I only know of two people who post here that have been consistently right about the subject, and have been roundly criticized and castigated for the past 5/6 years for their correct opinion on the direction of both gold and silver.

There really was no moral to this story. This news item is entirely and completely irrelevant to anything discussed on this board.

      • I wonder if the following quote represents today's popular meaning of freedom? Is that the freedom and love of their country our fore-fathers bravely fought and willingly sacrificeed their lives to defend? Who else would proudly display those words like a 'Badge of Honor'?

"The path to world peace starts with war. Once we control the world, there will be peace. Lets Pray For War together."

      • QWAK,bush,Ever notice that in all adventure stories and movies and such, that the ones who ones who are OBLIVIOUS of the DANGER are the FIRST to experience being CONCUMED by what ever monster that is lurking in the shadows? (ponder on that)

Besides that, I found it extreamly IRONIC that an UBER WEALTHY ROOFER would fall threw as roof that his construction company was building at HIS HOME! What are the odds of THAT happening? A trillion to one more than that?? :)

I guess you could also just say it seemed humorus to me that day.;)
