"WASHINGTON - It's almost as if people can barely stand the thought of President Bush and Congress anymore. Bush reached his lowest approval rating in The Associated Press-Ipsos poll on Friday as only 30 percent said they like the job he is doing, including an all-time low in his support by Republicans. Congress' approval fell to just 22 percent, equaling its poorest grade in the survey. Both marks dropped by 4 percentage points since early January."
"When I see them say they want to investigate Bill Belichick and Spygate, I say, 'Why do you want to investigate something like that when we have things we should address'" like the economy and health care, Mitch Dugger, 46, an independent from Mandeville, La., said.
Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., recently said the Senate Judiciary Committee may want to examine why the National Football League destroyed evidence in a scandal over cheating by Belichick, the New England Patriots' coach."
Yo eggs... the old shell game. So what else is new with our smartass and dishonest elected scumbags? They say you can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time. Well... it looks like they're doing much better than that! They've pushed the fooling percent up to the 90 percentiles. Just look at who the machinery has managed to bring to the forefront of PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFULS! Hmmmm.... is it still true when the politicians stand up in front of a crowd and preface their remarks with, "The American people aren't stupid." Maybe they should say, "The American people aren't stupid, but very gullible." I like just plain stupid better.... it's the drug generation. Too many dead brain cells.
"Thanks for that vital information on Coke, duck, uh I mean 4 goldbull...oh darn it duck, I mean egghead."

"You make a common mistake. The USA is a Republic, therefore Democracy of "the masses" is recognized, but more importantly the word of the minority views is accounted for as well. Thus the Electoral College system.
If popular vote was the only way to elect the president, the cities of LA, NY, Chicago, Miami, etc would decide every election. And how would that play in Peoria?
Now well. And the founding fathers knew that and that is why we live in a Republic and not a Democracy."
