The Coca-Cola Company Message Board

Mikey, doesn't ko have a ton of gaps

of gaps to fill in the $50s?

"Gaps typically reflect the highly charged emotional feelings of the crowd.... Downside gaps let us know that sellers are so fearful they are willing to liquidate at prices well below yesterday's trading range...most gaps on the charts are sooner or later filled as the bullish or bearish extreme that cause them moves back the other way..."

Seems to me we will need to go up there eventually to fill a few of those gaps. What do you think?

    • <<My question for you Paul is, does your TA ever produce a bullish analysis.>>

Yes it does.......and the results have mostly been losers, except when I take profits very quickly, which hasn't been often enough.

    • Thank you Paul for the reply. I was mulling selling some ATY for the last 2 hours, studying charts and other stock movements. Finally I checked this board, read your message and sold into the relative strength. I am also of the opinion that the stock's uptrend is in its final stages, the only question was how much was left in it. But chasing the last pennies while risking losing dollars does not make good betting so I sold 2/3 of my position. The stock is in my opinion a takeover candidate so it's good to keep a small position in it. My question for you Paul is, does your TA ever produce a bullish analysis. This is not a sarcastic question, it's just that I don't remember seeing a single such post from you ;-)

Looking forward to reading more of your posts on the different boards.

    • Despite today's rise (so far), my read is bearish.

      1. On Friday ATY completed a bearish engulfing pattern indicating the start of a new downtrend, or the continuation of the old downtrend. Your choice.

      2. Assuming that the candle stays at it is for the remainder of the day, today's formation will be a harami, indicating an end to the prior (up) trend.

      3. The gap opened on Mar 1 provides resistance to further advancing.

    • so take a look at this chart and tell me what you think. I took a position 3 months ago and double it on Thursday on the hope of a short term peaking. I see higher highs and higher lows, tell me what you see in the next 1 - 5 weeks. Thanks.

    • RE: Unfortunately, the $44.00-$44.50 band should be taken out within the next 2-3 days. I have no idea what will transpire subsequent to that activity, other than we will probably be in a trading range with a bottom of ????? and TOP of 50. I can envision a drop to around 41 and a strong bounce to 46, and then backing and filling.

RESPONSE: The ???? should read: "38" (at least, for a while..........), and the 50 should read: 47.

      best,

      Michael Z.

    • STATEMENT: The game IS rigged.

RESPONSE: I have no doubt as to your statement...., but time and exposure will adjust the "game".

STATEMENT: Look at the guy in Texas who kept posting that Lucent was going to warn. He had NO position and yet the government went after him like a pit bull. Why, because he wasn't some BLOWHARD from Merrill or Morgan or Goldman or Edward Jones.

RESPONSE: I am sorry, but I am not familiar with the case. Without the particulars, I cannot comment. There may or may not have been justification for the government's actions.

STATEMENT: These people can put out GARBAGE with complete immunity.

RESPONSE: I have an IDEA!! There is a very large firm, which I have mentioned on 3-4 occasions, that made a strong recommendation in spite of its own "technicians" HATING the stock. A lawsuit might stimulate a change in the rules, whereby when a recommendation is made, a dissenting position is included much like the Supreme Court does...., which would provide more depth to the call. Full and complete (as much as is possible, given cost vs. benefits) disclosure should be the primary concern!

STATEMENT: As soon as the little guy does something that the big guys or the company doesn't like, LAWSUIT!!!!

RESPONSE: Whereas you may be correct, I think each situation must stand or fall upon its own set of facts.

I WILL GLADLY DEFEND ANY POSTING I HAVE MADE..., AND I DO NOT CARE WHO WISHES TO ARGUE THE POINT.

BTW......., "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"...........thankx.

      best,

      Michael Z.

    • STATEMENT: Further, if the GURU's were forced to state their respective reasoning for their "calls", perhaps fewer would listen to them and get "sucked in".

    • STATEMENT: It is understood what you are doing with your "guesses", but be VERY careful at what you say. Have no idea who you are, however there is no denying we don't agree politically, but in today's world you might expose yourself to someone trying to blame YOU for anything that is posted. That is why crystal_palace_1 has SIGNIFICANTLY reduced the number of posts. Everybody is looking for someone else to blame!!!! And even though our posts would never qualify for advice, some scum bag attorney MIGHT be able to show otherwise..........

RESPONSE: Whereas I appreciate your thoughts, I have no problem stating my perception of the obvious. Further, if the GURU's were forced to state their respective reasoning for their "calls", perhaps fewer would listen to them and get "sucked in".

      Michael Z.
