Can anyone tell me how to call the company from USA and when the best time to call is? There is a telephone number under Profile. I thought it was a USA contact number but looks like it's a number for the company. I sent a couple of emails but didn't get reply.
It is the revaluation of the reserves against legal cases and when Turkish Lira appreciated against dollar (TRL fell slower than US$) then the reserves calcilated in TRL were insufficient to express the same amount in terms of $. Then there was a loss in translation.. of TRL into $.. When you look in terms of TRL the figure is the same but now less $ expressed. This is a translation loss arising from exchange rate movements..
for some reason i cannot bring up the pdf link-keeps freezing on me but if you are saying the accumulated loss was reported according to turkish acct. principles and not the US GAAP maybe that is what it is.
anyway- keep sending them e-mails.. It might be that they are trying to catch up after the recent sacrifice fest holiday.
No. That is something totally different. "Accumulated loss" means that all the income/loss for the past years added up all together results in a loss. From the SEC filing I don't see this. It is indicated specifically that it was "based on Turkish
Accounting Standards". So it may just be an excuse of no dividend. Nevertheless, I don't understand why the company doesn't reply to me. They were prompt in answering my other emails.
Thanks. I called but the lady didn't understand English. I have a question about "accumulated loss" in Q3 press release. Please comment if anybody knows. Why does the company have an accumulated loss? According to the past earning reports, it should have accumulated income, not loss. I sent this question through email to IR twice, no reply. Red flag?
