What does this company's K1 usually include in terms of taxable items attributable to the shareholder.I hear the dividends are partly non taxable each year .Do they include return of capital and thus reduce the basis so when shares are sold this amount increases taxable capital gain? Are there any items on K1 that are taxable but non distributed amounts?
This stock at least initially sounds like a good deal.
K1 will identify dividends, capital gains, return of capital, and any foriegn taxs paid. Dividends and capital gains will be taxable. Return of capital will reduce your cost basis, thus increasing your capital gain or reducing your capital gain when you sell your shares.
