They don't have any problem castigating an entire government. New Orleans has always been in the path of a potentially deadly hurricane. This has been known for many many years. It has been known for many, many years that it would be a catastrophe. The LOCAl government and Tenet along with all other hospital providers had plenty of time to evacuate, and having the knowledge of what would happen, they should have evacuated before the storm. They had at least 5 full days to do so.
I own the stock if that will make you disqualify my opinion. But before you go off half cocked, the hearings on the Katrina disaster are on CSPAN. This was a huge catastrophe and you would have had to been there to earn the right to castigate a whole lot of employees at THC.
This is not Monday morning quaterbacking you asinine pumper. This is what people that are paid over 1 million a year do to earn their money, when they have the lives of others in their hands. Anybody that was physically able to evacuate on their own and did not, got what they deserved. The people that were in the hospital and were murdered because they were not able to evacuate are victims of greed and imcompetent manangement. I have said before, fool, I don't own this stock and don't have any financial stake here, I just want to see this dangerous company that you pump for a few greedy dollars, be put out of business.
"You are right, none were evacuated. The point is, they should have been. I declare that you are exempt from walking in front of a bullet, does this mean you will? Memorial, where they had all the problems, would have been evacuated if the criteria for evacuation would have patient safety instead of saving money."
Damn isn't it easy to Monday morning quarterback you fool! And you would be the same person that would be bashing Tenet if the levy held, there were people during the storm that needed urgent medical care and Tenet had shut down their hospitals (or you would talk about how they would have a financial short fall due to closing and fully evacuating which would depress earnings and cause the stock to fall). In other words they couldn't have done the right thing in either case and you would be bashing them for it.
I just can't wait until you and all the other shorts, disgruntled ex-employees and Pearce clones shut up and leave the board as the stock recovers, which it will, over the next several years.
You are right, none were evacuated. The point is, they should have been. I declare that you are exempt from walking in front of a bullet, does this mean you will? Memorial, where they had all the problems, would have been evacuated if the criteria for evacuation would have patient safety instead of saving money.
Uh....refresh my memory. Which NOLA hospitals were actually evacuated BEFORE the hurricane hit? Name one.....
Fact is, NONE did....because the evacuation order EXEMPTED hospitals.
Sheesh....you Pearce fronts are amazing. Just what do you expect to get? Isn't clear by now that Tenet's going to buy your failed outpatient building in Lauderdale???
It would not have been to late to evactuate if they had evacuated when they should have. The the hospital would have been closed like it should have been and we would not be having this argument. People don't "check" into a hospital during a hurricane. Top Tenet people did not make the right decision when there was a category 5 hurricane headed their way for 5 days. In Florida we evacuate all hospitals in the Keys completely BEFORE the storm hits. Tenet's concern as usual, was the cost. You need to remember that no murders would have taken place if no one had been at that hospital.
