    TC warns

Thompson Creek has warned of a loss on next earnings. Shares are down today. Anyone think $6. is a buy signal? TGB should better inform shareholders would be an improvement in investor relations.

    • I have both TC and TGB. TC becuase I'm smart, and TGB, apparantly, because I'm not as smart as I think...:-) .

Really don't see why anyone would be down on mgt at TC, especially if they put up wth the magt at TGB. TC has had some issues relating to cost over runs that have been primarily driven by macro conditions in the mining industry as a whole. They have not experienced anything that any other mining company has not dealt with, and they will have a very nice operational asset up and running by Q-3 2013 (say, 5 quarters from now). At any measure, that would make this stock look cheap at twice the current price, moreover, it will also make TC a serious and diverse revenue producing operation, all of which TGB is not.

I still like TGB (doG knows why) and I was lucky enough to exit half of my position at a profit last year before it fell underwater. Kicking myself for not divesting of all of it an buying back in at these levels obviously.

This company cannot even run ongoing operations with any degree of competency.
Seriously - it seems like mgt here could mess up a wet dream.

I am hoping for P approval, or a buyout (please - universe, TCK, FCX, BHP, anyone hear my plea!, sombody, anybody buy this asset...).

At least it's a better shot than a lottery ticket....lol. Sadly, this is not my worst spec either...

Having said all that - I would still be a buyer at these levels if I did not already have too large of a position in this puppy already.

    • bubba,

You crawled our on a down day TGB congrats...lol

    • <<<TC is as much of a sure thing as you are going to find, if you have a longer time frame. TGB at this point is pure spec. (Wish it were otherwise but...)

One more thing. It's a good time to by SLW now too.....10% off it's 52 week lows. >>> me thinks, you would even make the fogger yawn...btw. fogger, w/o the share buyback, was it a ploy to prop up the SP..?

there yah go, plenty of ammunition to bash..lol.

    • TC - under $6 back up the truck, under $5, back up two trucks.

Seriously. Yes, there are cost ovveruns. But they have said they will still have the mine operational in Q-3 2013 regardless (more than I can say for TGB at this point) AND as we know, a stock experiences a good bit of it's run up in the 12 months prior to a mine coming online. A mine that will be in production for a long, long time by the way.

    • <<<I at least am honest with myself, unlike some folks here that hide out when the price drops,>>>

yoh fogger, my upgrades to the SST seem far away as i write this, back to an ultra light just about now..lol.

    • You may want to ask Foogie about that since he's been long in this dog thus far. I think you're going to see sub $6 here soon.

"If the current inflationary pressures continue, our costs will continue to increase and potentially rise above the current guidance," Loughrey said.

I think the handwriting is on the wall. Really hate to see anybody lose $$$ and that includes Foogie!
