Deutsche Telekom Debt Rating May Be Raised by Moody's
It's about time we get some half way decent news on DT instead of the usual fault-finding by the EU and the regulatory commissions.
you are correct and if it goes to zero, I will have a tax loss not a gain, but in looking at my long term investing it will still be a profit for me (on my original shares-got into Market Cellular which was a limited partnership of john Stanton's which became Pacific Northwest Cellular which became Western Wireless which split off Voicestream which became DT. My cost per share of most of my shares was about 60 cents but when DT bought VSTR they gave me cash enough to drive the 60 cents into the negative column on my books but my accountant handled the cash the right way.
We'll overlook your error this time, but next time........
Anything less than a dollar qualifies. I bought some APTI...which became AERL....which became VSTR...which became DT. I payed less than a dollar for some of the AERL, but it wasn't through planning or anything particularly smart on my part. I was just dollar averaging and stubborness on my part. I'm lucky I didn't lose my life savings.
OMG...I'm so embarrassed...it wasn't 9 cents
but rather 26 cents...that's according to
my statement but I have no idea how to figure
it out. I bought it at the same time as
longomni did.....a lonnnnngggg time ago.
Does that count for quarter stocks rather
I was under the impression that the cash was to be treated as all gain on the year recieved, while the stock (VSTR, DT, PTEL) fraction recieved was to be used to compute the ongoing cost basis of the adjusted shares.
I'll let lynzie comment, but unless there's something I've never heard about in the history of DT, their stock was never that low. Not since the beginning of the company that I know of, but I would be interested in hearing more.
