Heckmann Corporation Message Board

  • sofishere sofishere Apr 10, 2012 3:56 PM Flag

    Positives and Negatives

HEK is not a Trader's stock these days. It is an Investors stock, and it is good if you have the patience (and nerves of steel) to ride out the lows caused by record high temperatures this winter and the general malaise of the sector. Both are temporary.
Cramer is not the only one who sees value in it. Most analysts rate it a HOLD even now.
I got in at 4.55 after reading a report from a researcher who has made me money in the past, and who warned me that it can get worse before it gets better.

    • 77% inst ownership should indicate something .... of course ,
they are the same ones with large short positions too , but
      still they see something

the problem often encountered on these message boards , is
that everyone is a retail investor/trader and many are
looking to "get in early , or at the bottom" and hit a
grand slam ... a stock that doubles or triples on some
headline ... it's like the person who found a Picasso at a
garage sale .. you could go to 10000 garage sales and
never find anything but 2nd grader art .. that stuff is
      fodder for the hypesters ..

i certainly don't blame anyone for taking a stake in this
company , but certainly do not feel sorry for those who
bet too big, or bought their entire position at once ...

it's a very interesting stock , the company has a good
business plan , Mr. Hekman has a terrific track record ...

it's just that these small companies get buffeted all over
the place from deep pocketed players until they can
      get some real traction ...

      later ... garce

    • After issuing $250M in debt to buy a company (almost 1/2 the market cap), I am not touching this, especially with Natural gas at $2 and people stopping dry fracking
