I've just made my first investment in BKCC. I'd like to diversify, but I'm new to this sector and was wondering if anyone has any other recommendations of other companies in this Middle Market, Dividend stocks ??
Also, is there an aaconym or commonly used name for this secotr ??
Thanks in advance
Thanks all for the advice !! I added your recommendations to my companies to research.
After my research into dividend paying investments, here's what I ended up investing in.
BDCs: BKCC, ARCC
REITs: AGNC, HTS
Energy: BBEP, LINE
Thanks again all !!
One other stock/bond to consider is AFC. Its the old unsecured bonds issued by Allied and assumed by ARCC. The bonds are yielding about 8% right now and for them not to pay all the equity of ARCC would have to be wiped out. Since ARCC' net credit loss over the last two years was relatively minor, I think the bonds are about as safe as investment as there is out.
Also, I like FSC, absolutely no debt and a relatively new portfolio of almost all senior secured loans (2nd liens also). Once they put all their equity capital to work, I assume they will start leveraging themselves up and thus their dividend also should increase.
