AMR USAir Union Officials Just Met with DOJ Bill Baer
The union officials met with William Baer, head of the Justice Department’s antitrust division, at the agency’s Washington offices today for about 45 minutes, said Laura Glading, president of the Association of Professional Flight Attendants at AMR Corp.’s American.
Gina Talamona, a Justice Department spokeswoman, said "The meeting brought up issues the DOJ had not contemplated"
Where were all these antitrust experts opining before the DOJ's complaint ? The strongest argument that the merger will go thru is that all the experts say it likely will not, just like they all said the DOJ would have no/little issue with the merger, wrong!.
" formerly with the department " Im sure he was at the rally and had a clear insight of what was going on.
Just like FOX news all they interview is former this and former that. Hey funny thing former CEO of aa said it would pass. Funny how them former folks know everthing.
Gina Talamona has already put her foot in her mouth describing what the DOJ was looking for in airlines...and with her statement, she's told the media the DOJ plans to regulate airlines.
“We believe this merger would result in consumers paying more for airfares and receiving less service,” Gina Talamona, a spokeswoman for the Justice Department’s antitrust division, said in an e-mail. “The department’s lawsuit seeks to maintain competition in the airline industry.”
