Looking at the list of complete responders on the Zachs report.... check out the top patient.
baseline tumor burden was 223.... that is the length of every tumor in her body added together in millimeters
She ONLY received vaccine.... NO CISPLATIN
Her tumor burden increased slightly at 3 months... probably due to immune cells causing inflammation within the tumors.
At 6 months she has ZERO tumor in her body.... that is freakin amazing. There will be more like her before this study is over.
Why are patients with tumors reduced significantly still passing?
I don't understand why this would be. I would think the opposite would happen and the immune system would be stronger having to fight less and less of the tumor.
Unfortunately when you are dealing with this patient population there are numerous co-morbidities (some of which can be attributed to the prior chemo (such as cardiac, pulmonary and renal issues) which can cause morbidity and mortality. It's unfortunate that one patient expired 2 weeks prior to the one year point (not only for her life obviously but also for the data).
Like I've said before, this platform is a shoe-in for FDA approval. Minimal side effects and some pretty amazing recoveries w/o chemo. The chances of that tumor disappearing without the vaccine was zero point zero percent.
totally agree.. now the stupid questions .. on the chart for that patient, N/A I assume indicates she hasn't reached 9 months from treatment yet? And on a couple others there is exp. and months listed... is exp. short for expired?? Hope not.. but if it indicates how far along they are from treatment I would think it would state that for others instead of N/A. Again, these may be stupid questions, if so, apologize in advance and thanks for feedback.
N/A simply indicates "Not Available". It means she hasn't gotten to the further imaging time points yet because she hasn't been in the study long enough. It's amazing how well this worked (BY ITSELF) on both those Stage IV prior non-responders.
