    Jack Friedman Passes

Jack Friedman passed away recently. Thought I'd share a few facts about the man that lent his name to the company. I didn't know him, but clearly he ran a business that I admire, and am proud to invest in. What I know mainly comes from proxy statements, if anyone can share personal anecdotes, that would be great.

Jack Friedman passed away at the age of 87. Jack's father, Mendel Friedman started the company in 1939 in El Dorado Arkansas. Jack became a director of Friedman as soon as it was incorporated in 1965, and continued his directorship of the company until his passing recently. In 1972 Jack began his tenure as CEO of Friedman industries, a title that he held for over 30 years until Bill Crow took over as the current CEO. At the time of his death Jack Friedman was the largest individual shareholder in Friedman industries, with 363,000 shares or 5.34% of the outstanding stock. Mr. Friedman's brother, Harold sits on the board of directors currently.

My deepest sympathies to the Friedman Industries community.
