1 to 2 per million? 25 per million? 4 million births in the US per year. That's 100 cases per year? Better sell that stuff for a boatload per dose! And the 25 says MAY lead to....!
The early onset form of LAL Deficiency, sometimes called Wolman Disease, strikes 1-2 babies for every million births and is rapidly fatal, usually in the first year. Late onset LAL Deficiency, sometimes called Cholesteryl Ester Storage Disease (CESD), affects 25 individuals per million births and may lead to liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, liver failure and death. Also, there may be an increased risk of strokes.
