That's why I stay with COH...90% are failing..So when people say diversify...to what? Not many are creditworthy..I study the S&P 500 to save myself time..
I don't think you can expect much from MSFT..it's chart appears really poor.
In reply to your post #6272 re: my 20% return on MSFT....I annualized the return. It makes me feel better about selling a stagnant stock that gave me something back...for all my grief. BTW - I'm still holding MSFT....waiting to see what this week brings. Then I'll weed out some of the stocks that have given me divies but no other sizable returns.
It looks like we think alike....regarding our investment "strategies". I have no idea if I'm allowed to trade short or buy options in my Scottrade IRAs. I am positive, however, that I opted OUT of margin trading when they asked me to complete the form.
On a positive note, even with last week's BEATING, I'm still doing better than my broker did over the last 5-1/2 years, keeping me in his proprietary mutual fund sh*t. He managed to lose 30% of my corpus. Guess who made all the $$$ - Clue: NOT ME!!!
No, I don't trade on margin...I'm just not that sophisticated...nor daring. To me, it's an easy way to get burned 10x faster. I'm very cautious w/my investments and don't like taking great risk. I know, I know, just being in the market, AT ALL, is a great risk. But, I'm trading within two IRAs and one regular taxable account. Still, more than 1/2 of my "real" cash is in a money market acct. Does that give you an idea about my risk tolerance? I take it you're a margin trader???
P.S. I'm thinking of dumping MSFT since I got the special divie which translates to approx. 20+% return on investment in less than 6 mos. I'll let you know when I dump it coz that will be the day some huge announcement will come out and send the price into the stratosphere.
Yes..I wrote to him, and he answered a few times..Giving nothing of value, of course..and their program, "Football Fridays"? I am not watching a business program to listen to football..
And not only that, MSFT is betting the house buying back its stock with most of its spare cash..and if the stock tanks further, which is very likely, what then? I told him MSFT was better off buying COH with their spare cash..
To a degree dividends would attract buyers to an exceptional co., like COH..But I believe COH strategy is better, to buy back shares and expand..This would increase share price more effectively..
Not the strategy Kudlow and Cramer think appropriate for cos., but COH is correct..
You wrote to Cramer?? What a waste of time. That blowhard is way over-rated and is on TV only because he is entertaining (not to me). If it wasn't for his buffoonery(sp?), he wouldn't be around. He made his name during the bull run when just about anyone was making money. His website is a waste as well as his magazine. Be careful that he doesn't put a rec on any stock you're holding. Almost sure to be the KOD.
