The Best Way To Lose Money

Is to ignore the technicals because you feel the fundamentals of a company are so strong. The market (prices) are never wrong no matter what's driving them. Pretending you're right and the market's wrong is a sure fire way to part with your money.

IBD was telling people to lock in profits and raise cash a couple days ago. This proved to be sound advice.

      • If you choose to hold because you're a long term investor that;s fine. That's your thing. Personally I choose not to let the market take back my gains I just made. That's my thing. I use my understanding of price action and technicals to control risk and lock in gains when it's time. So tell me, have you lost any money today? The standard answer is because I haven't sold I haven't lost any money. That's nonsense. If your account balance is dropping you're losing money. However I'm sure Warren would be proud of you.

I don't mean to belittle long term investors. All I ask is that you allow me to inject my ideas about technical analysis and risk management. It won't hurt any true believers because the fundamentals are the important factor to them.
