First let me start by saying that his life story is still an inspiration to a lot of people even though it is obvious to most rational people that he used performance enhancing drugs. The fact is that most of the top cyclers in the world were also using performance enhancing drugs at the same time he was using them. Does it make it right? No. Should he have been strips of his titles? Yes. The problem I have with him is that he is still denying that he used those drugs which is obviously a boldface lie. What is the point of lying about something that everyone already knows the truth about?
You could establish separate leagues, natural and performance enhanced, similar to bodybuilding.
"...then high school and college players would use them too."
They already do. It's especially widespread in areas in the south where high school football is huge (Texas, Florida, Georgia, Alabama...).
This whole doping thing is nonsense. First off theres nothing wrong with it, who cares?. Some of the so called 'PEDS' are harmless such as cough medicine and diuretics, infact caffeine is a stronger performance enhancer. Others are added on the list after not being illegal, usually congress gets involved because the pharmaceutical lobby wants them banned.
Secondly doping is encouraged thats why theres a 'cut off' date. For the olympics testing starts 2 weeks before the games, just like in natural bodybuilding contests. Your simply told what date to be clean by. Correct all athletes use performance enhancing drugs, if they didnt GNC and the supplement business wouldnt exist. They are the first to invent synthetic forms of steroids with varying effectiveness. Androstendine (however its spelled) was manufactured by most supplement makers before it was banned, it was mass produced and found in every vitamin shop.
People need to wake up and learn that NONE of their athletic heroes are clean and it doesnt matter, since the ngative cannotation of word 'doping' is based on marketing.
I think that athletes at the professional level should be allowed to use growth hormones if they choose to. It certainly shouldn't be at the congressional level.
If I'm going spend $100 to go to a ball game, I like the idea of watching guys with size 15 hat sizes swinging at a 120 mph fast ball.
I also don't think Lance's titles should have been stripped. Even if he chose not to defend himself, the powers to be should have conducted a hearing to lay out all of the evidence in a methodical manner. Then, and only then should they be allowed to strip his titles. Otherwise there will always be a question as to whether or not Lance doped for those events.
Simply charts folks, watch the weekly $USD chart and the RSI 50, it has been support for 5 quarters, then you watch the weekly chart and the 30 MA. Are commodities going higher or lower? Watch the dollar weekly chart
