The United Socialist States of America how close are we?

These are the requirements Marx and Ingles laid out in the communist manifesto for a communist country. Lets see how close we are.

    1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purpose.
Almost there right now the government can take your land for a varity of reasons. We pay rent to the gov. in the form of property tax.

    2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
    Check got that

3.Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
    45% done with a 55% death tax

    4. Confiscation of all property of all emigrants and rebels.
Kind of if you are arrested for some crimes the gov. can come in a sieze your property.

    5. Centralisation of credit in the of the State, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.
Check I don't think I need to give an example on that.

    6. Centralisation of means of communication and transport in the State.
No, but D.C. does regulate these industries.

7.Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into cultivation of waste- lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
Public/Private partnerships politicans where talking about months ago. Also see green energy. Still not quite there yet.

    8. Equal liability of all labour. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
    Nope.

    9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of distinction between town and country, by a more equable distribution of population over the country.
No, but some might site NFTA.

    10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labour in its present form ( remember this was written in the 19th century ). Combination of industrial production, &c.,&c.
Check (although I do agree with every kid getting a \t least a basic education, if the kid wants higher ed. then they got to work for it.)

Almost there we're working on it. The U.S.S.A. can not be complete over night. Its a gradual thing it took the U.S. 100 years just to get this far. Remeber its a generational thing. Workers of the World Unite.

    • First of all' great post Spaceturtle.
1.We are currently a never before seen (in history)of a merging of differing philosophy's.
2.With that primary dictum/dictate resting upon the socialist/communist/progressive dogma.
3.Thus,what we are experiencing has never been tried in history before.

4.During the early 1900's,specifically from 1905 to 1915,a worldwide socialist/communist/progressive "revolution shook and took the world by storm.

5.The current configuration of the grand ole US is a by product of these other and in totality
      designs.

6.Where to today we are what we are, as you've perceptively pointed out,

      a myriad of a many beliefs/dogmas, concentrating upon what you've laid out;

a communist agenda at the heart of Amerika's doctrine.

      I'll expand further
      later.

      Yet,
      GREAT post fellow comrade spaceyturtle.....

      • FWIW,
It is in threads like this
that real people have the opportunity to express themselves.

Where it can be deciphered that the lack of individual input to this type of thread
        (ie;one requiring individual thought process)
is because the predominance of yahoo spambots roaming these boards.

Leaving the living few to scramble for the crumbs.

Needless to say, you don't see the usual mass poster bots
ie phlashprobey/nyctom responding to this do you ?
        No you do not.
        Conclusion.
They are nothing more than spambotches.

    • If the Dems get the House's debt limit requirement and the Senate's filibuster rule both removed as they are trying now to do, and they continue to get away with not submitting an annual budget (going on 4th year - against Constitutional requirement), we are well on our way. And Obama begins to look more like a King or a Czar than a POTUS.

It is frightening, and begins to look more every day like freedom loving people's only option is a 2nd American revolution.

      • Its sad but what you're saying is true, a 2nd AR would be devistating but could happen. The only problem is that these guys don't look at time as an issue. They train their families to carry out the cause of restoring fuedalism yes communisim is fuedalism. The way they look at it is generational where each generation of the families work toward widdling away the freedoms of the people and tie us back to the land. Its a slow process but I think they'll ultimatly win in the end. American will begin to forget about the constitution and their god given rights and become more and more relient on the gov. That by the time anyone notices it will be to late. I give it another 5 recessions. Why recessions because its easier to act and usurp power from the people when the people are hurting the most. Go back in time look it up. You can start from biblical times when Joesph convinced the people of Egypt to become slaves to the Phareo for food to the housing collapse where we basiclly gave up or 4th and 10th amendments.
