    Interesting factoid in today's NYT

    2012 was the first year since 1979 where the markets were in positive territory every single day. Hard to believe, considering all the wacky bull market years in that time period. Obviously, Ben's unstated mandate is working perfectly.

    • That is an outright lie. The markets were all down immediately after abummer was re-elected for one, and at least once before that in June. That is why we elect unqualified politicians. We have so many uninformed (low information) voters.

        Looking at the close for 12/30/2011, the market never closed lower for the Nasdaq and S&P in 2012...

        It did however, for the Dow and Russell, for a few days in June...

        You are correct about the markets after the election, although they ALL have recovered since then...

        For me, the question that remains is if 2013 will be like 1980...

        After a 4 year bull run, will Mr. Market maket it 5?
