The dollar has been way too strong in the past months. This will eventually translated to bad exports for U.S. companies. The U.S. can easily go back into the slump just like Europe with the dollar so high.
Some exporters use FedEx for their shipment oversea. The bad FexEx earnings report today may just be the first sign exporters in the U.S. are in trouble now. The rising dollar must hurt all exporters in the U.S.
The currency war was started by Japan and the Euro zone troubles deepened the currency problems. The high dollar level will eventually cause the U.S. not able to export goods, and it will cause U.S. manufactures to trim jobs eventually. This will get more and more obvious in the next few months.
Euro has been going down for the past months while the dollar just keep rising higher and higher. This will cause U.S. companies not able to sell products oversea. It will affect all exporters and manufactures. it will be bad for the job growth eventually.
The investors used to have better sense and understood higher dollar will kill U.S. exports and very bad for the stocks, but recently the market has lost sense with tracking dollar movement. This will end very ugly.
I checked with several smaller export companies, and they all told me the rising dollar is starting to affect them badly. I believe the rising dollar impact is huge to big companies too. The big international U.S. companies will suffer very badly with the rising dollar.
