As i type this, i gaze out the window in the early morning hours and ponder the coming week. The never ending struggle we all face today, tomorrow and beyond is highlighted by the obvious short comings of a country and policies of the gov. and the fed. Never have we had so many economic and social mechanics tinkering with a system that should be self regulating by natural market forces. It's like tying a string to a truck and expecting to pull it in the direction you want it to go...SNAP.
History will mark this point as the most convoluted and conspiracy driven drama this country has ever been drug through.
2 wars, housing collapse, bank fraud, investment ponzis , social depletion of common values and work ethics, drug abuse-legal and illegal, emigration, out of control budget deficits - local and federal, resource restrictions and shortages, natural disasters. structural labor force declines from tech and off-shoring, etc....etc...
Now, i think most would agree the GOOD TIMES, are ending, and the frantic forces of conservatism will bite back at the abuses that have (almost) ruined this once great nation.

    • History will condemn the Greediest Generation, from the top on down, for digging America's grave.
Never before have the people had it so good.
Never again will this be repeated.

They, meaning everybody except nary a few, squandered away what they were given.

Though everybody had a hand in the digging, the primary culprit is as is the case in any family,
the parent; the stewards of the country who were given the reins to steer it.

You don't blame the child for his misgivings or ill conduct.
      You blame the parents.

So shall the blame for America's downward spiral be placed.

    • We have one way out of this mess IMO. We as an American people's set aside our differences on cultural issues and engage collectively to elect a responsible government without consideration of party labels. The primary purpose of such newly elected government is to fix our nations financial house, not be afraid to make tough decicions and protect our borders. I personally would like to see every politician in Washington replaced as a reminder the constitution gives people the power to do so, if we worked in unison. I think we either achieve revolution in this manner or eventually there will be blood in the streets and some of the scenarios the doomsayers warn of may come to be. If we stay on present course, the civil unrest to come will make the 60's look like nothing more than a roudy party.

    • Much of what you have written could also have been written during our stagnation period of the 70's.

I hope the (almost) at the end of your post can be posted without parentheses one day. Unfortunately, I think we are close to the point of no return.
