You bring up a GREAT POINT. Why do NONE of us, as investors in PUBLICALLY TRADED COMPANIES and a PUBLIC STOCK MARKET, have ANY IDEA or ANY ACCESS to any information that would let us know WHO is actually the buyer or seller of each share of stock at every given moment?
Where is the TRANSPARENCY? Even in a casino you can clearly see who you are playing against! That's why your odds are better at making money in Vegas!
Why after hundreds of years of stock markets, are we still not allowed access to this information, even in today's era of high-speed information technology? I don't want to know which firm is routing the trade, I want to know the ACTUAL PERSON or ENTITY that is responsible for the trade! If this is supposed to be a fair game, why do the major players get to hide?
