People are getting sick of Linked in like facebook it is a time killer with annoying requests

to link up to people. Am I the only one that thinks this phenomena has seen it's best days or am I missing something ?

    • The two are completely different. If you’re tired of FB there is a reason, if you’re tired of LNKD you must not have a job that requires much outside expertise. There are an enormous amount of useful and intelligent people on LNKD, FB an enormous amount of useless and mindless junk.

      • I got rid of LNKD because of the corporate espionage aspect. I did not like the idea that my competitors could find out who my contacts are. Maybe for someone who is low level and starting out, they need more in the way of random contacts than they are providing, but for the higher end, the people I know have LNKD accounts, but do not use it unless they are actively looking for a job.

How can LNKD attract the higher end while at the same time provide some degree of confidentiality AND grow their business through selling their database? I don't know. It is not attractive to me.
