google sells advertising. consumers use it because google has a network of servers that fetch results in nanoseconds.
Mimvi is slow and not anything special. How are they going to sell advertisements when they can barely get eyeballs to use their product? Quixey, Google, Apple, Facebook will block mimvi from ever becoming anything more than a story to sell amateur investors.
OK, so let me get this straight. You understand they sell advertisements? good job. Now imagine a world without websites, replaced by apps. How effective will search be that ranks pages based on links etc. etc?
Let's say i'll agree with you regarding Google/Quixey wanting to block. Do you know who powers Facebook and Yahoo search? Do you understand what a fraction of relevancy/matching improvement in a cognitive environment can improve the margins of a major search engine? Have you studied previous search acquisitions Google has made? Microsoft has made? Probably not.
