    Blue Harbor enters the picture

Check some of my posts going back a couple months. I have felt that some private equity group or the equivalent would enter the picture visavis JACK because of the liquidation value of the company longer term. It seems that Blue Harbor literally stole the stock at those low prices in June and July. They have nothing to lose if either 1. encouraging management to sell or spinoff Qdoba and other assets to enhance shareholder value, or, 2. taking a larger stake themselves, or encourage others to do so, pending some sort of offer for the shares in the mid to upper 20s. My speculation has also been that there surely would be a White Knight in the wings at that point because of the obvious value and relatively strong balance sheet of JACK. My hat is off to Blue Harbor management for spotting this obvious winning situation. Best, Big J in L.A.
