    I thought I was investing in a safe dividend paying drug company

    "but acting like a high risk stock. From $39 to $34 and still going down even if market is up.Why would someone still short at this level if it's shorts causing the drop?"

    I posted similar concerns and I got one response to the effect:

    "Its hard to stay short a stock with 5% dividend."

    I wonder if the poster thinks SNY will continue paying a divvy when/if it's sp slips to $10 a share (sarcasm).

    In the meantime, look at the jump in short interest between 4/13 and 4/30. That should provide you with an answer.

    Is the sudden jump in short interest due to the patent expirations?

    And we stand a good chance at acquiring Amylin.
