FTR/CTL which is the better of the two?

Both are down of weak earnings, but FTR pays 10.6% dividend a bit higher than CTL.

    • Well CTL is buying Qwest. We had a DSL outtage over the weekend that was restored at 9;15 am Monday Morning. I assume it was because the day shift arrived and pushed the restart button on the server. At 12:30 they called to inform me that my DSL has been restored. They had offered to send me an email when my Internet was restored how stupid is that.

Anyone who invests in this company is crazy.

    • If you want short term dividends gofor FTR and then move on; get your dididend and get out. But you have to buy enough to cover costs. If you want long term money go for CTL I have made market in CTL since the orgional issue at $7.00 a share. bought and sold over the years. Have put two through college with no debt, Paid the EX $500,000. for my freedom and still am making profits. If it gets to $31.5 I will buy 3 or 4,000 more shares. Should level out after that and back to making money. Their history speaks of a well managed, highly acwquiring corp and I don't expect many changes in their attitude.
