The parents say they figured out that the boy was on eteplirsen during the blinded portion of the trial. Did they share their thoughts and excitement with their son during the blinded portion? Did other parents as well? Could that have caused a placebo effect given such a small sample size?
You are short and the study is now unblinded. Now, they definitely know that he is on the drug. Back when the father made the statement about how well his son was doing, they did not know. However, the son's capabilities had increased so much that it was obvious to them he was on the drug and it worked. The video and the story behind it is going national. Let's hope the other son can get SRPT's drug soon too.
