This was a mean. If 3 kids declined a bit more than slightly, there could still be a superstar. This 36 week data could be 2-3 months old.
There may have been some positive bias in the mother's statements.
You just described the difference between a boy on the drug for 36 weeks (just beginning to gain strength from having dystrophin restored for roughly 12 weeks) and a boy being on drug for 48 weeks. That is what is so baffling to me from some of the commentary - the expectation that returning dystrophin levels to 20-30% of normal for a short period of time is going to suddenly reverse years of muscle deterioration? The muscles need to heal (to the extent it can with the limited dystrophin) and the boy needs to strengthen them and re-learn how to use them - improvement will undoubtedly take time - halting progression after 36 weeks on the drug is amazing enough.
There was a 15% improvement in distance over a 6 minute time period.
That is a clinical improvement, for sure.
But it is not consistent with a boy who can run and jump who couldn't run and jump before.
If that were accurate then I believe you'd see a lot more improvement that just 69 meters, or whatever the number was.
Maybe the time isn't right for a deal! I am certain Chris has seen much more data than we have. He may see the time for a deal isn't now.
SRPT doesn't need a deal at the moment and other than an ex-US deal, may not need a deal at all.
A few more dollars and some warrants will bring in some cash.
