There have been changes to the FDA. One of the most dramatic, as a result of a recently passed law, is that many more medicines should be approved on an “accelerated” basis, before results are in. Wall Street has woken up to this. Extremely positive results for a muscular dystrophy drug developed by Sarepta Therapeutics are being talked about as a reason the medicine might be approved.
Hopefully Forbes is correct because if SRPT is truly what it appears to be, alot of our young boys may be saved by early approval and alot will suffer and die if not approved during the Phase III trial.
Somebody in the FDA has to have the guts to early approve these drugs with some controls implemented to protect society in case something goes wrong. That's my take-let's get going and make positive decisions.
