Here are my personal reasons to only short SRPT. Let me give you an analogy:
The $14 to $45 rally on Oct 3 was like visiting an used car salesman who hypes up a lemon and fools you into buying it for top $$$. Then you go home and after driving the car for a few days you realize the stock is at $21s and the car you have is a total lemon and you got duped big time on Oct 3 into buying that car.
Now the used salesman calls you up and says he wants to sell you another 'great car'. Would you buy from him again, even if he is indeed going to sell you a good car at a good price? Hell no. You would never buy from that used car salesman again.
Then why should it be any different for stocks? Why would you want to buy SRPT a 2nd time around even if it promises you a Pump 2.0?? Would you not rather short it? It's the principle behind it, NOT the money (at least for me)
What a real dope this holy goof is. The story would be, you took the car home and found gold in the glove box and the car is now worth about $100 per share, so you go back and hug the salesman. The drug works, you fool. Why come on a message board and talk bad about a drug company whose drug works. What a dope....
And if 20% of the companies stock is sold short and it jumps 50% leading to pain on the short side to drive it another 50% with short covering it won't matter as we have seen what the perseptions of value really are as value will be distorted by your said strategy. Short away it can turn into a billion dollar company overnight very soon or you can maybe make 10% on the short side or double your money on your puts over the short term. Good on you hero. But the only reason it went to $45 was because of people like you and your said strategy. Good luck with it.
