The chart does not indicate to me that from ~$70 handle LNN is performing very well. It is the market cap of the company and the space it operates in that make LNN an $83 stock on a buy out. VMI is only about 15% in irrigation and is a much more diversified company of a much larger market cap. Ag Growth International has done 2 acqusitions in the last year. AGCO, DE, and even VMI are all potential suitors for LNN. Then the chance of a private equity offering as well. ADM is another with big pockets. Difficult to say when LNN will be taken out but it will probably go to the block in the next couple years as China slides out of depreciating US treasuries and looks for unregulated grain markets where it can make the exchange for grains and fertilizer which then have an intrinsic value.
