    costco vs sams club

i went to neighborhood costco and sams club last sunday. they are located less than quarter mile apart, on the east and west side of the major blvd.

i went to costco first and i had a problem with parking cuz the parking lot was full at 10:30 in the morning. the inside was equally crowd but lively and the employees were helpful and seem eager to help. the store was stocked well had tons of merchandize.

then i went to sams club. parking was easy because there were probably 20 cars at just before 11am. as soon as i stepped in, i saw few employees wandering around but hardly the shoppers. the store had eerily, depressed feeling, kinda like a store just before closing at 8:50pm. you could tell that the store shelfs were under-utilized and the merchandize, especially in the food section, seems old and stale. whereas costco had a bit of festivity feeling, sams club had a feeling of dimly-lit factory from which you can't wait to get out, which is exactly what i did.

as far as i can tell, sams club is a sinking ship.
