How many of you folks believe that we will go over the fiscal cliff on Dec 31? If you are believe that is a high probability have you taken the time to put together a buy portfolio ? We have a few stocks that we are holding such as GE, X,F.GM, JPM. We have assembled such a portfolio with stocks like msft, csco, intc, 3M, starbucks, ebay,TJMax and a few more. Our plan includes a staircase stepdown method of entry points with 25% of revenue expenditures at each buy. I am interested in hearing what other vapers are doing now that the month of December is here.
I'm 80% iin cash, so am kind of hoping that we go over tthe cliff. There would be some tremendous buying opportunities if that happens. I say the odds of going over the cliff are 40%.
hoping for a Santa Claus rally myself would like to move more to cash soon....will not sell at a loss at this point though....may have to with hopes of getting back into many after cliff if it should happen...
I am not sure any stock is immune to the cliff, if in fact DC does nothing between now and the first of the year. CASH is about the only thing that won't lose value. Regarding your mutual funds, same thing. there are individual stocks behind them. Again, CASH, or maybe treasuries and/or ginnie mae. they may lose a small amount of value, but nothing like your individual stocks. Alan Simpson yesteday said "hunker" down, 'cause the brats in DC aren't going to get it done. gl
